I hate lists.

I hate lists.
This statement is partially hypocritical as I write two or three lists a day. They help me to map out what I have to get done. However, they come with a flaw. After writing a list which can, in my experience take up to 1 hour to do perfectly, you then have to actually do stuff. When you don't, you are filled with self loathing, guilt, and a stronger desire not to do anything. From now on I have a filo-fax!!!
It takes me back to simpler times, when there is no voice recognition or a "share on facebook" button. So far I have written two things in it; decorate the little space on the date of my birthday, and on today's date "Do Physics Coursework". I have not yet started. Its due in tomorrow.
I hope everyone has a good night, better than mine!

Decisions decisions...

The majority of you reading this will understand what I am talking about. A levels are crazy hard. I am currently studing Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Geography. It took me about a year to decide exactly what to take for A level, and as soon as I got there the teachers turn around and bombarded me with more questions. "What do you want to take at University?" "Which University do you want to go to?" "What do you want to do for the rest of your life?" ... My answer is I haven't got a clue!! How, at 16 years old, am I expected to make such decisions? I wouldn't be surprised if my biology teacher turned around and asked "So, Amy, how many kids are you going to have?"

I know by now I should know roughly what career path I'm going to choose. Although, I can't understand why I can't just wait for opportunities to arise, or some to be ruined ... because surely, c'est la vive?

I think for all of us we need to realise that sometimes things just don't go the way we want, even if we put all our effort into it. But that's okay. Things which go wrong, or prevent us from doing something or if we screw up, it all helps us to learn and become more determined to try again or aim for a different goal.

So tell me what decisions are you having to make at this moment in your life? And why are they so difficult to make?

This summer I am going on a month long trip to India. Whilst there the group will be spending 9 days building a classroom for a small school in the high mountains of the Himalayas. Resources are cheap out there, however we still need money to by bricks, sand, tools etc. There is a group of about 20 of us, any ideas on how we could raise money? Or idea on how I could raise money on my own?

My First Post.

Only a life lived for others is worth living. - Albert Einstein

This is a blog about me, a very ordinary teenage girl. However, I have a dream. A dream to help as many people in my life, not matter who they are. I want to fight for what I think is right. I want to help the world. This is my mission and I need you - yes, you - to help me. Firstly by reading my blog, which won't all be about saving the world, I promise. Secondly, spreading the word about campaigns. Thirdly, giving me positive motivation to keep going when things get tough, because I'm only human. And finally, realising whoever you are that YOU have the ability to make a difference.
